Mind Expanding Exercise

As a gift to all we I decided to give you a quick preview, of one technique we will be using for instant calm, in the November 2011, online coaching workshop.
Start with these simple steps today.
Creating a feeling of security, confidence, and calm
First step: Accessing a vision or memory of the feelings you want create at will.
There are 2 ways to do create positive feelings:
1. By using a positive memory from the past.
2. Or by creating a positive “future memory” by using a”vision” of a future event.
We will just be discussing the 1st way today. This exercise is actually very easy. We begin by thinking back to a time or an event where we experienced the feelings we would like to access. Once you have this we can anchor it with the fingers-touch technique.
Step A. How to use a memory from the past.
1. Remember a time when you had feelings of
- confidence
- calm
- or comfort.
For some people memories and events surface quickly without any extra instructions. For other a bit more instruction is needed:
To access past memories most people find it easier to focus by:
First: Closing the eyes
Second: As your eyes close, take a nice deep breath and release.
Third: Let your mind drift as you think of a time in your life (even a brief memory) when you felt confident, calm and comfortable.
Fourth: If this is a memory you want to use, allow yourself to image actually being back in the memory.
NOTE: Remember we are using pleasant memories for this exercise
Fifth: Notice what you are seeing, hearing and feeling as you put yourself into the memory.
Sixth: As you are in the memory pay attention to where in your body you feel the feelings, (example: stomach, heart, all over) It might have a warmth or coolness, or even a lightness and heaviness. Just notice what you are feeling.
Seventh: Bring yourself back to the present taking as much of the good feelings as seem appropriate for you.
Note: This is the beginning step for creating positive feeling when you desire. We will talk more about this in November coaching workshop. You’ll be amazed about how much you can increase the positive feeling when we use this memory in a really powerful way. Many people feel the benefit just by doing the steps above.
